Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I install the LT-55 XL Software?
      1. Download the LT-55 XL software from here or install it from the CD that was included in the LT-55 XL case.
      2. Double click on the SetupLT-55XL.msi file that you downloaded (or was located on the CD).
      3. If asked to run the software click Run.
      4. Click Next.
      5. Select the "Everyone" radio button and click Next.
      6. Click Next.
      7. Click Close.

      Install CDM Driver
      If you are reinstalling the LT-55 XL software on a tablet PC that is meant to be used for templating you will also need to install the CDM Driver which allows the laser to communicate with the tablet PC. Click here for those instructions.

  • I received an error while running Windows Vista/7
    • If you have problems running the LT-55 XL Software on Windows Vista or Windows 7 where it will not load. you need to disable the UAC (User Access Control). To do so:

      Windows Vista Instructions:

      1. Click on Start (Windows Logo).
      2. Click on Control Panel.
      3. Click on View in Classic View.
      4. Click User Accounts.
      5. Click on Turn User Account Control ON/OFF.
      6. Uncheck the check box.
      7. Click OK.
      8. Click Restart Now.
      9. After the computer restarts the software should run normally.

      Windows 7 Instructions:

      1. Click on Start (Windows Logo).
      2. Click on Control Panel.
      3. Search for “UAC” in the search bar at the top right corner of the Control Panel window.
      4. You will be given the result of User Account Control (UAC) Settings
      5. Drag the slider down to the bottom (Never Notify)
      6. Click OK.
      7. Click Restart Now.
      8. After the computer restarts the software should run normally.
