Bluetooth Pairing for LT-55 XL
- Turn on tablet PC
- Once finished booting, plug in USB cable and wait until you hear a kerplunk sound indicating it has connected.
- Open up BlueSoleil by double clicking on it on the Desktop
- Right click on the Bluetooth icon in the Task Bar in the bottom right corner of the screen b y the clock.
- If you do not see the Bluetooth icon, click the triangle to the left of the clock to reveal hidden programs running and then right click on it.
- Click Display.
- Turn on the Laser by pressing the power button.
- A green LED will light up on the side indicating it is on.
- In The Bluetooth Settings window (IVT Corporation BlueSoleil), click My Bluetooth.
- Click Bluetooth Device Discovery.
- When a Bluetooth device is found and shows DISTO D8 followed by a bunch of numbers appears, right click on it and select Pair.
- When asked for the Pairing Code enter “0000”
- A red check mark will indicate it is paired directly above the word “DISTO D8”
- Double click on the newly paired device. You will see the third icon from the top left turn yellow and have a box around it; this indicates it is ready to establish a connection to the laser.
- Right click on DISTO D8 again and select Connect / Bluetooth Serial Port Service.
- The Bluetooth icon for the DISTO D8 will now turn green and you will see a dotted line running from the device to the center of the screen (this orange ball is a representation of the tablet PC).
- Right click on the DISTO D8 and select Status.
- Take note what COM Port # the tablet PC indicates the laser is connected through. In this example it is COM4.
Find Encoder Comport #
- Right clicking on Computer.
- Click Properties.
- Click Device Manager
- Click the arrow before Ports (COM & LPT)
- Look for USB Serial Port (COM#)
- Take note of what COM Port # the encoder is connected through. In this example it is COM13.
Setting Comports
- Open Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Laser Products\LT-55XL and open the Settings.txt file.
- Scroll down about 2/3rduntil you see:
- lt_bluetooth_port=
- lt_bluetooth_encoder_port=
- In capital letters enter “COM” and then the number from the two previous sections of these instructions so that the result looks like the following.
- Save the Settings.txt file and close the program.
