Install CDM Driver

The CDM Driver allows the Tablet PC to communicate with the Laser via USB. This is installed on every Tablet PC before it is shipped however if the Tablet PC does recognize the laser is connected but it will not connect through the LT-55 XL software, reinstallation of the CDM Driver corrects the problem. If the Tablet PC does not recognize the laser being connected, that means there is a communication error between circuit board and the Tablet PC. Please contact us for more information on this.

1. Download the CDM Driver by clicking here.
2. Plug the USB cable into both the Samsung and black box but do not turn on black box.
3. Double click on the CDM2.04.16.exe file.
4. A command window will appear and install the driver automatically. Once it says it is finished, press Enter.
5. Turn on the black box.
6. A dialogue balloon in the bottom right task bar will appear. Wait until that balloon shows “Found new hardware and is ready to use.”
7. Right click on My Computer and go to Properties.
8. Click on the Hardware tab.
9. Click Device Manager.
10. Click the + next to Universal Serial Bus Controller.
11. Right click on Universal Serial Converter.
12. Click on the Advanced tab.
13. Check the box next to Load VCP.
14. Click the Driver tab.
15. Click Update Driver (while on an active internet connection).
16. Choose the “Yes, this time only” radial button and click Next.
17. Choose the “Install software automatically” radial button and click Next. The software will connect to the internet and check for updates and if there is one, it will download and install it.
18. Click Finish
19. When asked “Do you want to restart your computer,” click No.
20. Plug in USB cable into the other USB Port on the Samsung.
21. Repeat Steps 5-17 for other USB Port on Samsung.
22. When asked “Do want to restart your computer,” click Yes.
